Adolescent and Teen Resources
The Minnesota AIDS Project knows it can be difficult to find reliable and relatable information about sexual health targeted at younger people. We have researched a number of books and websites focusing on sexual health and targeted at adolescents. Learning about your sexual health can be confusing. Please discuss these issues with a trusted adult in your life to make sure you understand the information correctly and have a reliable person you can talk with.
The suggested resources below have been reviewed by the Minnesota AIDS Project and contain accurate and age appropriate sexual health information for teens and adolescents. The suggested books below are in print and can be found at most public libraries or purchased through many retailers. The websites below have been developed specifically for youth to answer your questions in factual but relatable way. Pedro and Me
Friendship, Loss, and What I Learned
Author: Judd Winick
Judd Winick pays tribute to his Real World roommate and friend Pedro Zamora, an AIDS activist who died of the disease. His cartoon memoir tells the story of their friendship and serves as a vivid memorial to a bright–eyed and gifted man who made more of his 22 years of life than most of us could make of 80.

A nonprofit youth organization committed to providing social, cultural and educational opportunities by and for gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) youth and their friends. Programming is a blend of in–person and online activities. Website
Go Ask Alice
A health website produced by Columbia University's Health Education Program. Answers all types of questions related to sexual health, sexual orientation, emotional health, and relationships and dating. Website
I Wanna Know
The American Social Health Association website answers teens' questions about sexual health and STD prevention. Includes a chat room for teens and a guide for parents. Website
Sex, etc.
An interactive, electronic version of the national newsletter Sex, ETC. Includes stories written by teens about HIV, drugs, relationships, pregnancy, contraception, STDs, and other health and sexuality issues. Provides an opportunity to "ask the experts" and information for adults. Website
Teenwire
This online magazine, produced by Planned Parenthood, provides information on sexual health and relationships for teens. Website
