StrongMen Initiative

A lot of people are doing things that put them at risk for HIV, and we can show them safer options. Become a peer educator and get all the tools you need to help others live and use healthier and smarter. It’s not about changing what you do, it’s about doing it safer. Learn more about HIV prevention for gay & bi men who use drugs. Empower yourself to help others live safer and healthier.

Who’s eligible?
Gay/bi/questioning men who are currently using drugs or have used drugs in the past. It’s a harm reduction group, so it doesn’t matter if you’re currently using or not.

What’s it like?
We hold overnight weekend retreats at a beautiful retreat location in south Minneapolis. There are discussion groups and skill-building sessions, as well as great food, refreshments, and fun. It’s a great way to meet other people who do similar things to you. You’ll get a $50 gift card for participating, and become a certified Peer Educator!
Join the StrongMen community at monthly booster groups where you can learn more about the StrongMen Initiative, and meet up with guys who’ve been to a retreat. Everyone at the booster group gets a $10 gift card.

How do I get started?
Come to a booster group on the 1st Thursday of each month from 3pm – 4pm at the Minnesota AIDS Project, or contact us for more information. You can or contact:
